Alders Cottage is a lovely little holiday home nestled within this sought after village of Tansley in Derbyshire. As you arrive you can park your car in the allocated spaces, for ease of unloading. Enter the property into a porch, perfect for keeping coats and boots out of your way after a nice walk through the fields. The sitting room is a cosy space with a welcoming wood burner and Smart TV and there is ample seating in this room with views onto the village. The kitchen features all the appliances you should require throughout your holiday with a dining table perfect for eating together or seeing the night away with fun games. On the first floor are two bedrooms, the master is a king size bed with TV and views over the village and beyond, the second bedroom houses a single bed. The bathroom features a shower over bath setup. To the rear of the property is an enclosed courtyard with bistro set, perfect for a morning coffee and to safely let your fury friends out. Please be aware that the property is accessed via steps to front and rear, and the second floor is accessed via staircase which may not be suitable for those with accessibility difficulties.
Tansley is a village on the outskirts of Matlock town, from here you can explore the Lumsdale waterfalls, or the opposite way is the stunning area of Riber with Riber Castle taking a prominent location over Matlock town. There are many routes you can take directly from the door or just a short drive away. Ensure to visit Chatsworth House and explore inside as well as the gardens of this stately home, the grounds are fantastic to walk around and if you are visiting in the warmer weather, many locals enjoy a dip in the river or a picnic. Matlock Bath is one of the most popular attractions nearby, this village hosts the annual illuminations as well as the Cable Cars known as The Heights of Abraham. If you wish for an adrenaline filled day, then you are not far from Alton Towers theme park or for the younger crowd Matlock Bath is also home to Gulliver’s Kingdom. You can make each day full of your favourite things to do, even if it is just ambling around of the picturesque countryside villages, at the end of the day you have two great pubs within walking distance to the property to enjoy some delicious food and drinks.

Alders cottage was just lovely for our short weekend break. It had all the right amenities and was in a great place for walking and Matlock. The local pub was really nice with good food and very friendly people. I would definitely recommend to my family and friends.
