We had a great relaxing time at The Barn. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Lots of space inside the barn and nice treats for us to enjoy when we get there. It's not walkable to any amenities except a pub, but the situation by the canal is very nice. Dog friendly too and we enjoyed having the log burner and piano! We hope to go back in the future to explore more tht the area has to offer.

The barn is in a nice quiet location beside a lock on the Chesterfield Canal. It is an ideal base if you want to visit places associated with the Pilgrim Fathers - churches at Scrooby, Austerfield, Babworth, Worksop and Sturton le Steeple. Gainsborough Old Hall is a must visit with a great exhibition of the history of the Pilgrim Fathers at the adjacent Congregational church. Another similar exhibition is to be found at the Bassetlaw Museum in Retford, where there are many other items of interest.
