With each bedroom benefitting from its own bathroom, it is ideal for couples or families to enjoy. With gardens running all around and two patio areas as well as outside dining space to enjoy summer barbecues, it is a lovely spot for a holiday or as a base from which to explore Lincolnshire. Nearby Horncastle is the gateway to The Lincolnshire Wolds (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and offers a good selection of shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants as well as being well known for its array of antiques and collectables shops.
For days out, motor racing fans will enjoy Cadwell Park near Louth, travel east to the sandy beaches of the traditional seaside resort of Skegness or head inland to the city of Lincoln with its impressive cathedral and castle to visit. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is 15 minutes drive away as is Lincolnshire Aviation Centre at East Kirkby, the home of Just Jane, the wwii Lancaster bomber which still does regular taxi runs along the runway. There are very good walks and cycle routes straight from the door and in the evening dine alfresco style at home watching the deer roam through the trees, or head into Horncastle or nearby Kirkby on Bain for refreshment. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

A beautiful, peaceful location. The only close neighbours were the deer and the birds. Although there was occasional noise from passing large vehicles, this was only noticed when sitting outside. The cottage was very well equipped - kitchen and bathrooms were modern and very clean. The bedrooms were welcoming and comfortable. Good selection of books and games as well as a TV. Excellent communication beforehand fron Gail, our host, who also visited to ensure sure we had everything we needed and again before we left to make sure we had had a good stay. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back again.

This holiday let is truly magical. We loved the quirky building, the history, the deer, the trees and the peace. Note of course that it is a gate house so if you sit in the garden there is quite a lot of traffic passing. It didn't bother us unduly. We would have rebooked for the Autumn except for one major issue, the WiFi. There was a very weak signal and it constantly cut-out. If you are hoping to watch iPlayer or any streaming channels there is no chance and we found if both of us tried to use WiFi at the same time it was far from satisfactory. Such a shame
