Kingfisher Cottage is a charming and cosy retreat, praised for its riverside location, well-equipped kitchen, and relaxing hot tub. Guests appreciate the peaceful setting, proximity to local amenities, and warm welcome from the hosts. While most found the cottage clean and comfortable, some mentioned issues with the mattress, sofa, and occasional maintenance or cleanliness concerns. Thoughtful touches such as welcome packs were appreciated by several guests, though these are not guaranteed. Overall, the cottage offers a delightful base for exploring the area and enjoying a relaxing break.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with several positive mentions of cleanliness and well-kept facilities. However, a few reviews noted issues such as dog hairs, mildew, and the need for deeper cleaning in some areas, which slightly lowered the overall impression.
The location is highly praised for its peaceful riverside setting, easy access to Wainfleet village, local pubs, shops, and transport links. Guests enjoyed the quiet surroundings and convenience for exploring the area.
Guests generally found the cottage warm and cosy, but comfort was affected by repeated comments about an uncomfortable mattress and, to a lesser extent, the sofa. Some guests found the bed and pillows too hard, while others noted improvements.
The cottage is well-equipped with a modern kitchen, hot tub, underfloor heating, and private parking. Most guests were pleased with the amenities, though a few suggested minor improvements or replacements for certain items and noted occasional maintenance issues.
Several guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits, as well as helpful hosts. Please note that these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

My son and I loved staying in Kingfisher Cottage and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Perfectly positioned within a few minutes walk of the train station, the bus station, eateries, chip shop, co-op, pizza place and a brewery to name but a few! Very easy to jump on a train to Skegness or the other way to Boston, Lincoln, Nottingham ......We visited Lincoln which we loved. The cottage is small but has everything you need. Kitchen was well equipped with some useful things in the cupboard (salt, vinegar, pepper and spray oil). The Internet was patchy but with a little help from Chris we managed. The underfloor heating was nice and kept the cottage nice and cosy. Bathroom and bedroom were good .... perhaps take some hangers with you if you're staying a while (a few in the wardrobe but not many). Outside there was a tennis court which was good and in our garden was the hot tub. We went in most days, switched the colourful lights on and enjoyed the warmth ..... bliss! Chris and Lou were most welcoming and always ready to help if needed. Highly recommended!
