Kingfisher Cottage is a charming riverside retreat praised for its peaceful location, cosy atmosphere, and well-equipped amenities, including a covered hot tub. Guests appreciate the proximity to local pubs, shops, and attractions, making it ideal for relaxing getaways. While most found the cottage clean and welcoming, a few noted areas needing attention, such as the mattress and occasional maintenance issues. Thoughtful touches like welcome packs were appreciated by some guests, though not guaranteed. Overall, the cottage offers a delightful base for exploring the area, with the positives far outweighing any minor drawbacks.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with several reviews highlighting its cleanliness. However, a few guests mentioned issues such as dog hairs, crumbs, and areas needing deeper cleaning, particularly in the kitchen and bathroom. These occasional concerns slightly lowered the overall impression.
The location is highly praised for its riverside setting, tranquillity, and easy access to Wainfleet's amenities, pubs, and transport links. Guests enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the convenience of nearby attractions, making it a standout feature.
Guests generally found the cottage warm and cosy, but comfort was affected by repeated mentions of an uncomfortable mattress and pillows, as well as a settee that some found unsupportive. Despite this, many still enjoyed their stay and found the cottage inviting.
The cottage is well-equipped, with a modern kitchen, underfloor heating, and a popular covered hot tub. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues, such as the need for updated utensils or clearer instructions for appliances, but overall facilities were considered very good.
Several guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits, as well as helpful hosts. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, guests should not expect them as standard.

The cottage itself was lovely and clean and had everything you needed. I arrived a day earlier and the owner was very accommodating to ensure I could access the cottage earlier the following day so thank you. My only slight complaint at the cottage was the little courtyard. It was very dirty, the bench and table have seen better days, maybe look at upgrading the furniture and that area. The hot tub area was also dirty, although the hot tub itself was clean. Think a bit of care needed to this area to tidy it up and upgrade the furniture. Thanks
