We stayed as a party of 9 for my 40th birthday and absolutely loved the lodge! There was everything we needed & more - we met the owners who wanted to check it was up to standard before we went in & it didn't disappoint. The swimming pool had a slight leak but we were made aware before we checked in and all we had to do was fill the pool each day with the house which wasn't an issue. The pool wasn't hot but that's due to the outside temperature & we expected this so wasn't an issue - we still got loads of use out of it & was brilliant going from the pool to the sauna. The hot tub was really big too. Comfy beds, nice showers, plenty of space & an amazing welcome hamper which was unexpected. The seafront is literally a 10mins walk away and easy to find, there is a pub 2mins walk away and we had a lovely carvery at a pub about 5mins walk away. Were already looking to come back!

Although it’s a big house with nice beds, kitchen, rooms and hot tub it was badly let down by the swimming pool and the heating. It was the middle of winter and very cold. The pool was advertised as warm all year round. It certainly wasn’t. It has a big leak and the water level was going down every 24 hours by 4 tiles so I was told to top it up with cold water from the hosepipe to keep the level to no less than 3 tiles which was needed every day. This meant that apart from the second day we could never enjoy the pool - it was too cold. The heating in the house was set for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours at night. The rest of the time the thermostat was set at 9 centigrade. Surely the minimum is 14 or 16. It was cold so we kept needing to adjust the thermostat. What made it was worse is this was a big celebration family holiday for my wife’s 60th So we expected for the amount we paid for everything to be perfect.
