Welcome to Willow Cottage, a quaint property in a small row of just three terraced cottages built in 1844 and just a few steps from the Town Centre of Cockermouth. Inside you’ll love the modern décor, contemporary colours, and spacious living area with a cosy wood burner. You’ll find plenty of easy seating, and a contemporary kitchen/dining room with everything you need, inclusive of a toaster and kettle, for your self-catering holiday. Upstairs there’s a spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed and a twin room. The bedrooms are also equipped with sufficient wardrobe and drawer storage, as well as bedside tables with lamps and mirrors. The bathroom comes with a shower over a full-size bath and a basin with an ample water supply.
This property is ideal for couples and families who want to park their car at the property and explore this vibrant town centre on foot. Cockermouth Town Centre, the birthplace of William Wordsworth, is just a short walk from the property. The National Trust Wordsworth House is across the road. The location of this property is perfect. Cockermouth is a thriving market town full of hidden surprises at every turn. It boasts a great selection of pubs, quaint restaurants, micro-breweries, local craft shops, independent coffee houses, delicatessens, speciality shops and of course, well-known retailers and branded stores too.
If you like culture, Kirkgate Arts show movies, arts and drama. The leisure centre is also nearby as well as local cycle hire. You’ll also find Cockermouth’s very own Castle ruins beside the Rivers Derwent and River Cocker meet. Cockermouth is on the border of the Lake District National Park, so whether you like the rugged adventure of the mountains or the serenity of the seaside, you’ve got the best of both worlds.
You’re also within easy reach of Bassenthwaite Lake at the foot of the Skiddaw range for fantastic walks, woodland, wildlife and watersports. You’ll also find the Lakes Distillery offering tasting tours, as well as the Lake District Wildlife Park just 6 miles away. The popular town of Keswick is 14 miles away and can be reached in about 20 minutes. For walkers and cyclists, you’ll love the route through Whinlatter Forest Park, or continue down the valley to Buttermere which boasts stunning panoramic scenery. Beach 8½ miles.
