A brief walk leads via Hope Park and its scenic gardens and golf courses, past the Theatre on the Lake to Derwentwater lakeside with its boating trips and magnificent views of the surrounding hills and mountains.

The apartment was lovely, however the patio needs a really good clean. The kitchen window could do with a blind. The bath taps are an awkward obstacle that cause problems trying to get in and out of the shower. Perhaps a walk in shower would be better.

We have stayed at 1 Windsor House before, and the recent improvements to the kitchen and lounge have made the accommodation even better.The accommodation has everything you could need for a week's holiday. In terms of a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living area, and bedroom. We made use of the washing machine this time, which was helpful, as we travelled by train and could limit our luggage. The location is perfect, close to the shops, theatre, cinema and not too far from the bus station. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.
