The location is convenient on several other fronts, the local café is across the road, its situated only 200 yards from the A66 for easy access, 400 yards from the start of the Latrigg/Skiddaw walk and a 10 minutes stroll through the park to Keswick town centre. The cottage is suitable for couples and small families on a walking holiday, seeking comfortable accommodation at an affordable price.

The cottage was comfortable and well equipped.The kitchen and bathroom are nice and modern.The double room is very small but it didnt effect our stay.The cottage is on a fantastic location for keswick town centre derwent water and a hike up skiddaw and latrigg. Fitz park is a very short walk.We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location, easy beautiful walk into town via Fitz Park. Would recommend spending time there and visiting the museum. The cottage was very comfortable and in the main clean, oven could do with some attention. Although the double bedroom is small it was adequate as the twin room is large with plenty of storage. Lots of information supplied and plenty of DVDS.

I stayed in poachers cottage for four nights and my only regret was that I didn’t book it for longer. Location is perfect and parking on site is an extra bonus. Spotlessly clean and everything you need for a self catering holiday is on hand. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly.
