While most found it homely and comfortable, a few noted minor maintenance issues and the absence of a welcome pack or starter supplies. Overall, the cottage is highly recommended for its location, amenities, and suitability for larger groups.

Most guests found the property very clean and tidy, with several reviews specifically praising the high standard of cleanliness. A minority mentioned superficial cleaning in some areas, but this was not a common complaint.

The majority of guests found the cottage comfortable, with spacious rooms, good beds, and plenty of communal space. However, a few reviews mentioned issues with mattresses, sofas, and heating, which affected their comfort.

The cottage is well-equipped with modern bathrooms, a washing machine, dishwasher, and games room. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues (e.g., leaking window, TV signal, kitchen equipment), but overall facilities were rated positively.

This was our 5th stay at Beeches. We are a group of 5 ladies who enjoy wild swimming in Bassenthwaite Buttermere and Derwentwater so this accommodation is perfect for us. A couple of issues this time, we had no WiFi for the 3 nights we were there and were unable to open the bathroom window. Both issues were reported to Cottages.com. Otherwise we had a very enjoyable stay and will return.

Cottage 5/5. We came for 3 nights in May. The cottage was lovely; well equipped, warm, comfortable, and clean. There were 8 of us + a dog and it didn’t feel cramped at all. Everything worked, the showers were excellent, and having a washing machine and dishwasher was very helpful. The children loved the pool table & football table. There is also a pub with a sunny beer garden opposite. Location is beautiful but there didn’t seem to be any pavements to walk on which meant we had to drive everywhere (we tried a walk on the road & it was pretty scary with the fast traffic), but we managed to explore Whinlatter Forest, Keswick, Skiddaw, and many of the northern fells as these were all within a 20min drive.

Lovely cottage, perfect for 8 adults plus a baby and a dog. Very comfortable. A TV bracket that can be angled would be a suggestion and perhaps knowledge of what coffee machine is provided so compatible pods can be brought but these are very minor and didn’t detract from our stay at all. The garden was lovely, the walk to the Sun Inn, which we loved, is along a very quiet back road and very manageable with a pushchair. We would stay again and would happily recommend the Beeches.
