22rd May - 5th June 2026, Wonderful cottage for our family holiday. Quiet & a breathtaking view. Recently decorated with new carpets in the bedrooms. Lucky with the weather as we hit the early heatwave of the bank holiday weekend. A very enjoyable two weeks stay.

We had a lovely time at The Beeches but had not realised you had to drive to access walks. The cottage was in a lovely setting but with main (60mph) roads around which made it dangerous to take our granddaughter out for a walk with our dog. Had there been pavements or if the roads were 20mph we would have managed better.

This was our 5th stay at Beeches. We are a group of 5 ladies who enjoy wild swimming in Bassenthwaite Buttermere and Derwentwater so this accommodation is perfect for us. A couple of issues this time, we had no WiFi for the 3 nights we were there and were unable to open the bathroom window. Both issues were reported to Cottages.com. Otherwise we had a very enjoyable stay and will return.
