A wonderful home and location but a few small details require owner's attention to ensure a better score:Garden path floods in the rain and water sits until warm enough to evaporate.Cleaning requires improvement as the stairwells and bannisters had grimy fingerprints everywhere.Window frames require a deep clean.Kitchen bin and 1st floor ensuite bin both faulty.Mixed waste bin was already full upon arrival on 17th August and thus was overflowing by departure on 24th August despite being told that this would be emptied every other Tuesday, I do not believe it was emptied on the 11th August and definitely was NOT emptied on the 18th.~The harbourside location was superb with a decent choice of nearby eateries, pubs and supermarkets and regular bus and train services to Carlisle, Workington and Whitehaven.

Loved everything about this holiday. The house was large, well furnished, warm and welcoming. Beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The views of the harbour and across the Solway Firth to Scotland were great.Maryport is a perfect location for a family break (7 of us, three generations, age range 7-78). Within easy walking distance are the excellent aquarium; fascinating Roman Museum; great pirate themed play park; activity centre with Clip’n’climb and a range of great eating places including an award winning tandoori restaurant. Highly recommended!

Large comfy house located in the harbour. Watch the tides come in and the fishing boats rise and fall. Lovely! We’ve stayed regularly for several years and will come again.Having said that, quite a few annoyances this time:House is very clean apart from the shower drains which are slow to empty. There are a few lights that don’t work - outside over the door - hard to find key in dark, also above the hob. In one bedroom there is a bedside light you cannot plug in (no socket/extension). The balcony door was almost impossible to open. The heating had a mind of its own. Generally cozy but unable to boost it for an hour coming in late or cold! :-)
