Enjoy being close to all the village amenities with the added bonus of having a peaceful large garden to the rear of the property with views across open fields. Just a short walk will take you to the shore of Ullswater where there are all year round regular steamers travelling the sinuous length of the lake, calling at Howton on the way south to Glenridding. Water sports, cycling and walking are all popular activities and whichever you choose you’ll be amazed by the spectacular scenery which Wordsworth called ‘the happiest combination of beauty and grandeur’. South of the lake you can drive over the scenic Kirkstone Pass which takes you down into the popular village of Ambleside and on to Windermere. The traditional market town of Penrith with a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants is 6 miles. Shops and pubs 30 yards.

    A lovely place to stay for a family get together, garden was a bonus and so close to local amenities. Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen and a BbQ too, would thoroughly recommend 🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️

    An excellent stay at Holly House with a group of friends celebrating our 50th birthdays. The house is clean, spacious and the bedrooms were comfortable and it was great to all have our own bathrooms. The location is perfect and we enjoyed walks, food and drinks in and around Pooley Bridge. The ample parking is also fantastic. We will definitely recommend and hope to return.

    Large, comfortable house in a brilliant village position within walking distance of the Ullswater Steamer. Lots of places to eat and drink were within staggering distance. There were 10 of us catering for ourselves and there was plenty of fridge and freezer storage. The house was well equipped for cooking and eating, and we never ran out of crockery/glasses.
