Tucked away within easy reach of Norfolk Broads and coast, it is hidden from view and nestled beside Sutton Windmill, and one of the tallest still standing.
The location benefits from sandy beaches and the famous Norfolk Broads on the doorstep. Sea Palling is just 14 minutes’ drive with an excellent sandy beach backed by sand dunes, cafés, pub, and amusements. Excellent walking can be enjoyed from the doorstep with the Weavers Way running through the town of Stalham and providing great opportunities to explore on foot or by cycle.
Sutton Staithe is your gateway to the Norfolk Broads connecting onto the River Ant. Daily boat hire and river trips available to explore the miles of waterways. Excellent river fishing and local lake fishing is also available (seasonal, and licence required) and The Norfolk Broads Museum (seasonal opening). The Broads and three pubs are all within a mile. The village centre of Stalham (2½ miles) has cafés, bakery, supermarket, chemist, petrol station, beautician, bank and eateries. Wroxham, known as the Capital of the Broads, (9½ miles) with shops, supermarket, cafés and restaurants.
During the months of November and January parts of Horsey beach are protected whilst the grey seal colony give birth, a great opportunity to visit and see nature up close. For great family fun days visit Bewilderwood, a tree top adventure in Horning, Roarr Dinosaur Adventure at Lenwade, indoor soft play, slides, outdoor adventure and splash park and Wroxham Barns with a small petting farm and play park.
The historic city of Norwich (15 miles) is worth a visit, having two excellent indoor shopping malls, market square, cafés, restaurants, pubs, cathedral, theatre, and castle museum. The livelier seaside resort of Great Yarmouth (16 miles) has amusements, fun fair, pier, shops and restaurants. Your holiday home hosts, Nick and Lisa, will be more than happy to advise on any local attractions or answer any questions you have when planning your itinerary. Beach 3 miles. Lovely cottage, great location for days exploring the nearby beaches.

The cottage was reasonably equipped, warm and comfortable. However, the information failed to fully say that the car had to be parked 90 yards away and although a trolley was provided to transport all the luggage etc it would have been a nightmare if the weather had been raining! Hence the Average score. The garden was fully enclosed but a mow of the grass would have been appreciated. The owners were very pleasant but information on which bin was to be used for what was missing so I had to call Nick. A simple notice on the wall would have been welcomed plus extra bin liners provided. Although I pack most things they were not on my list!Usually all the Cottages I have stayed in have had a visitors book, a folder with numbers for Drs, Vets etc. which have been easily accessible. We did eventually find the many pamphlets on things to do and instructions for the cooker in the large table drawer. Overall we had a very pleasant holiday in Millers Rest.

Stayed during the October half term, couldn’t fault the accommodation at all, very clean, extremely comfortable beds, the whole place is fitted out to a very high standard, showers are great, the pictures really don’t do it justice, the owners are really nice.
