Arriving at the very cold cottage with no idea how to start the gas fire was disappointing. Realising the mobile ph service was minimal, and intermittent when trying to get instructions came next. Later realising NO Wi-Fi bar slow and patchy via this ph signal was very frustrating. For these reasons I would not stay here again. When it was warm it showed itself to be a little cottage with quirky goth meets Druid decor and maximal faux fur. If eating in it has to be on your knee with terrestrial TV. Also note if bringing your dog(s) the garden is not enclosed. Barnard Castle is beautiful as is the entire region. Lots to see locally do with history and museums, markets, walks in the parks or by the river, up the hills and down the dales. Lovely shops, pubs and restaurants all in easy walking distance. Love the area.

This is a lovely cottage in a fabulous town. Totally agree that new pictures need to be taken as its much much better. Walking in to a warm room care of a gas fire and comfy sofa, the kitchen has everything you need, front door could do with a curtain but we just used a small blanket on a coat hanger. Bed is a bit soft so I went into the smaller room which at 5ft 6 fitted me fine! The shower is a bit weird but works perfectly and it works well good hot water with a flick of the switch.Parking is available its free and whilst roadside its off the road and we didnt struggle to park up once.Great property, we took 2 pups with us that had a wonderful time. Honestly we highly recommend booking as we had a wonderful holiday.
