The closest town to Ruffside is Consett which is a vibrant town in North West Durham. The Coast to Coast cycle route passes through Consett and is known as the UK’s most popular long-distance cycle route. If you’d prefer a more relaxed visit, you can explore The Glass and Art Gallery, Derwent Reservoir and many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. The closest train station to Ruffside is Stocksfield which is a 20 minute drive away. Stocksfield is a small yet sprawlingcommuter village which is served by the Tyne Valley Line, with trains running to Newcastle, Hexham and Carlisle. A number of connecting routes can also be found from these stations so getting to other locations around the UK could not be easier.

The 773 bus route travels through to Consett from Ruffside. Cote has high ceilings and original features so you’ll find plenty of character and charm throughout. The cottage benefits from a spacious living room with exposed beams, comfy sofas and a flat screen TV.
