Blackbird House in Alnwick is a well-regarded cottage, praised for its charm, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. It's conveniently located for exploring the town and nearby coast. Guests appreciate the cosy atmosphere, spacious rooms, and period features. Some concerns over lounge lighting and cleanliness were noted, but overall, guests are keen to return and recommend the property.
Most guests found Blackbird House to be of a high standard, though there were isolated comments about cleanliness issues such as residue on the cooker and crumbs on kitchen seats. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to Alnwick village, local pubs, and the coast. The convenience for walking and driving around the area is a significant plus, although the nearby church bells were a nuisance for one guest.
Guests consistently mention the comfortable beds and restful vibe of the cottage. The sitting room's darkness was a point of contention, affecting the comfort for some, but overall, the property is seen as a comfortable retreat.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and generous bedroom sizes. However, minor maintenance issues like a problematic toaster and swollen back door were noted. The need for better lighting in the lounge was also mentioned.
While guests mentioned a welcome bottle of Merlot and dog biscuits, there is insufficient information to assess the consistency of such gestures or their impact on the overall experience. Therefore, it's politely noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

Blackbird house is a gem. It's the best cottage we've stayed in. Charmingly decorated, it has everything we needed to relax and refresh. The kitchen was very well equipped. The beds were comfy. The sitting room, because it was a little dark, gave out a restful vibe. It is very handily situated for walking around Alnwick, and for driving to the coast. The house was cosy, and with the fire on, it made for lovely evenings. We will be coming back. Thank you for a wonderful holiday

Lovely cottage, comfortable bed. Crisp white bedding. Good bathroom and kitchen. Only complaint is the lounge is very dark and the lighting in there poor. Too dark to read of an evening.

Great stay. Great location . Only niggles were that there was no bread knife and the toaster wouldn’t latch down. We were only on a three night stay so not an issue for us and I’m sure if I had contacted the manager it would have been sorted. One of the best places we have stayed in for quite some time
