Blackbird House in Alnwick is highly praised for its charming decor, spacious and comfortable bedrooms, and excellent location within walking distance of the town centre and local attractions. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen and cosy atmosphere, especially with the fire. While most found the property clean and inviting, a few noted minor issues with cleanliness and lighting in the lounge. Parking is generally convenient, though occasionally limited. Thoughtful touches such as welcome gifts were appreciated by some guests, though these are not guaranteed. Overall, the cottage offers a delightful and relaxing base for exploring Alnwick and Northumberland.
Most guests found the property clean and well-presented, with crisp bedding and tidy rooms. However, a few reviews mentioned minor lapses, such as crumbs on kitchen seats and some grease on the cooker, which slightly affected the overall impression.
The location is frequently highlighted as a major strength, with guests loving the short walk to Alnwick's centre, easy access to local attractions, and proximity to the coast. Parking is usually convenient, though occasionally guests had to park nearby rather than directly outside.
Guests consistently praised the comfort of the beds and the overall cosy atmosphere of the house. The spacious bedrooms and restful vibe of the lounge contributed to a relaxing stay, though a few found the lounge a bit dark for reading.
The cottage is well-equipped, with a good kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, and comfortable furnishings. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as a toaster not working, a swollen back door, and the need for improved lighting in the lounge, but these did not significantly detract from the overall experience.
Several guests appreciated thoughtful touches like a bottle of wine and dog biscuits, though it must be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed. Some felt the welcome pack could be improved, but overall, the property was considered welcoming.

We loved the house, it was very comfortable. We were within easy reach of everything in Alnwick and the places of interest. It's a great area.really good for the dog and Barter Books of course. We will be back.

We had a lovely weeks holiday in the cottage which was most enjoyable, the only problem we had was parking in front of the cottage but having said that it's quite easy to find somewhere close by to park. If we ever go to Alnwick again we would definitely try to get this accommodation.

Cottage was beautifully presented very close to all the amenities, very clean and had all the mod cons, the only thing we didn’t like was the small back yard but we understand there’s nothing can be changed there.
