This unusual, detached holiday accommodation with a peaceful contemporary feel is a restored former water tower set in a rural location, close to the charming village of Corbridge. Hadrian’s Wall is nearby, and Hexham, famous for its abbey and racecourse, is only a few minutes’ drive. The Northumberland Heritage Coast with its golden unspoilt beaches and castles is 50 minutes. Bamburgh and Alnwick, both with splendid castles, can be visited on the same day. Recommended restaurant/bar in Newton village (8 minutes’ walk) serving excellent food. Shop 5 miles, pub 3 miles.

From start to finish this is a great place to stay, very homely and comfortable. Nice welcome from the owners. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and places to visit. As well as the Donkeys Fred and BarneyWill definitely be back.

This is our second visit to the Water Castle. It is set in beautiful countryside with stunning views. We enjoyed watching the beautiful sunsets each evening. They have 2 lovely donkeys Barney & Fred whom we enjoyed watching feeding carrots and apples each day. It is situated just off the A69 and close to the A1 if you wish to visit Bamburgh/ Craster areas you have easy access.
