Guests say

Carmel is a well-situated cottage praised for its proximity to the beach and spacious, comfortable interiors. Guests appreciate the local amenities, including The Landings cafe and nearby restaurants. While some maintenance issues are noted, the property's location and the overall quality of stay are highly regarded.

The property generally presents a clean environment, with most surfaces and floors well-kept. However, some guests noted a need for a deeper clean, particularly in less accessible areas like high ceiling rafters and lights, and issues with kitchenware cleanliness due to previous occupants.

The cottage's location is consistently lauded, being just a short stroll from the beach and within easy reach of local dining options. Its proximity to coastal paths and the town of Seahouses adds to its appeal.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with spacious rooms and a cosy atmosphere. Some minor complaints about outdated appliances slightly detract from the overall comfort but do not significantly impact the pleasant experience.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living areas. However, several reviews mention maintenance issues with appliances and a need for updates, which suggests room for improvement in this category.

The owners' thoughtfulness is evident in gestures like decorating for Christmas, which was highly appreciated. While such personal touches are mentioned positively, it is noted that these are not guaranteed for every stay.

Accommodation is lovely. Good size living area with wood burning stove. We didn’t cook much but kitchen did seem well kitted out. Dishcloths, dish towels and washing up liquid were kindly provided but this wasn’t clear so we had taken our own. The Landing pub is 2 minutes walk away. Beach and harbour 5 minute walk.

This property is in a great location. It is warm and well equipped. However, we raised concerns about the hob when we stayed two years ago - nothing has been done and we still feel it should be replaced. The extractor fan needs a deep clean (we found that out because the extractor lights blew after a power cut) but other than that everything was good.
