The Solway Coast which is only 4 miles away has a lovely beach with long walks with paths along the coast great for dog walkers then relax and grab an ice cream or head too the local pub for a meal in allonby or visit silloth and Mayport two off the harbour towns on the solway coast with coffee shops, cafés, pubs takeaways and supermarkets or venture into the north lakes keswick only 14 miles away which has lots outdoor stuff to do with two lakes bassethwaite and derwent water in the area great for water activities paddle boarding ,swimming ,canoeing this property is next door too other cottages great for big family/friends get togethers. These include Halls Bank Farm ref 1319 sleeps 8 , Berwyn Bank ref 15825 sleeps 12 , Beckside (ref 17926) sleeps 2 all on the same site . The market town of Cockermouth is 6 miles, Keswick 14 miles and Buttermere 12 miles. Bassenthwaite Lake, 6 miles. Private fishing on the River Ellen for salmon and trout, 1 mile (free of charge). Golf and horse riding nearby. Beach 4 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub ½ mile.

A beautiful cottage which was much larger than we expected and well equipped. The private use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna was a great facility and immaculately maintained.

2nd time we have stayed here. Amazing cottage, well equipped and owners around if needed. Swimming pool is for private use for 1 hour daily which meant we were able to enjoy a quiet peaceful swim. Lovely and warm with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Location is off the beaten track but the solway coast and northern lakes are within 40 mins drive.
