Guests appreciate the comfortable stay, well-equipped kitchen, and the wildlife seen from the property. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is highly recommended for a relaxing holiday.
The apartment is generally found to be tidy and clean, with some guests highlighting its high standard. However, a few reviews mention the need for a deeper clean in certain areas, such as bathroom floors and the washing machine detergent compartment. These isolated comments suggest room for improvement in cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its delightful views, village life, and proximity to local amenities and attractions. Guests enjoy the peaceful setting and the convenience for exploring the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall, and nearby towns. The abundant wildlife and country walks add to the charm of the location.
Comfort is a strong point for Geltsdale East Wing, with guests finding the property relaxing and well-furnished. The presence of en-suite bedrooms and a tastefully decorated interior contribute to a comfortable stay. Some guests mention issues with showers and hot water, but these do not detract significantly from the overall comfort.
The facilities are generally well-received, with the apartment being well-equipped for a family stay. Guests appreciate the amenities provided, including a washing machine and dryer. Some maintenance issues are noted, such as the need for a touch-up in decor and attention to the plumbing, but these are balanced by the positive aspects.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

With it being a bank holiday, it took 4 days to rectify the problem. It should be emphasised in the listing that the East Wing is totally unsuitable for the disabled or persons with walking difficulties due to stairs access. Although the surrounding grounds and the views are outstanding and meticulously maintained, there is no allocated area to enjoy a glass of wine and outdoor dining on a warm summer evening. (there is one provided for the Garden Cottage and a small shaded area in front of the main entrance is allocated for the East Wing with some furniture - well beyond itâs sell by date) Apart from the above points the accommodation could not be faulted and is highly recommended.

With many country walks around the village and just a short stroll to the village shop, cafe, pub and restaurant we found Geltsdale the perfect location to experience village life for a few days.
