Barngarth is a well appointed spacious terraced house in the centre of Cartmel. It was a very comfortable and relaxing place to spend a winter week. No parking available, but we managed to find a space each day by the comprehensive school.Highly recommended.

Lovely, extremely well equipped cottage with excellent fixtures and fittings. Very clean and comfortable, everything we needed for our 4 night stay. Very generous with good toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits, a bottle of Prosecco and kitchen consumables such as dishwasher tabs and washing up liquid. However, the information provided in the cottage should be updated as it states where the parking permit should be, it is residential parking permits only outside the cottage after 1 hour. From earlier reviews it appears that there hasn’t been one for sometime but it doesn’t stop you looking for it. Although we found a space by the school which was indicated by the information given by the cottage owners if you had a second car, it would have been nice to park our one car on Barn Garth due the poor weather.

We had a great stay at Barngarth recently. There were two couples and two toddlers and it was perfect for all of us. The house had a well equipped kitchen, plenty of space for us all and what we brought with us, it had tea, coffee, milk and some biscuits and even a bottle of Prosecco. It was really clean and well kept. It also had a travel cot and high chair which wasn’t listed but useful to know for anyone else visiting. Only downside was that the parking permit appears to be missing but we found free parking nearby.
