Set entirely on the ground floor, this welcoming holiday home has an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, creating a comfortable space for relaxing together after days spent exploring. The well-equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher and microwave, while the inviting bedroom has a super-king-size bed that can also be arranged as twins on request. An en-suite shower room, Wi-Fi, private parking and outdoor seating complete this charming rural retreat.

Step outside and you’re surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of the Arnside & Silverdale aonb, now known as Arnside & Silverdale National Landscape. Walks lead out through the countryside from close to the doorstep, while Arnside’s attractive promenade and estuary are around a 15-minute walk away. Wander into the village for coffee, lunch or drinks at one of its cafés and pubs, then enjoy an evening stroll beside Morecambe Bay.

Couples who love the outdoors can spend their days discovering woodland, limestone hills and wildlife-rich coastline. Head towards Silverdale for peaceful coastal walks, explore the nature trails around rspb Leighton Moss, or seek out viewpoints across the bay. Pretty Grange-over-Sands lies across the estuary and makes a lovely outing by train from Arnside.

Milo’s Retreat is also ideally positioned for exploring two of northern England’s best-loved National Parks. Venture into the Lake District for romantic lakeside walks, mountain scenery and a cruise on Lake Windermere, with Bowness-on-Windermere within easy driving distance. Alternatively, head east into the Yorkshire Dales for rolling hills, waterfalls, traditional villages and memorable walking country.

Food-loving couples can visit picturesque Cartmel, famous for its sticky toffee pudding and excellent places to eat, or spend an afternoon exploring Kirkby Lonsdale’s independent shops, cafés and riverside walks.

For a change of scene, historic Lancaster offers plenty for a day together. Explore its impressive castle, wander the characterful city centre and discover its museums, cafés, restaurants and bars before returning to the tranquillity of Milo’s Retreat.
