Enjoying spectacular countryside views, this detached holiday cottage is furnished and equipped to a very high standard and set within the 7-acre grounds of Garden Farm (no longer working), in a quiet and peaceful location on the edge of Ilam Hall Country Park. The ground floor comprises of a living room, spacious kitchen and a twin bedroom with an en-suite, and the first floor has a double bedroom and a bathroom. Excellent walking can be enjoyed from the door as well as cycling. The beautiful Dovedale and Manifold valleys lie just a mile away. Tissington and High Peak Trails nearby. Ashbourne 5 miles. Carsington Water 9 miles. Alton Towers 8 miles. Shops 5 miles, pub 1 mile.

Garden Farm Cottage was immaculately presented, with clean crisp, fresh bedding. It was very comfortable and warm (we were there in February). Although the owner's house was opposite, the cottage was still very private and it was very quiet throughout our stay. The cottage was tucked away and had a secluded feel. The owner Debbie was very friendly. We hope to return at some point and would unreservedly recommend it.The roads in the vicinity are very narrow, with passing places, and so driving with great care is required. The nearest town is Ashbourne, around a 15 minute drive away, which we would recommend visiting. Other towns worth visiting nearby include Matlock, Buxton and Bakewell. The Monsal Trail, a walking trail, between Bakewell and Buxton is particularly recommended.

Excellent cottage to stay in, warm and cosy (important bearing in mind we were there early January in the snow), equipped with everything needed. Very helpful hosts who we saw when we arrived and messaged after our stay. Location is lovely, very convenient for Dovedale and Ashbourne. We were a couple staying with a friend and the layout was perfect for us with the en-suite room downstairs and separate bedroom/bathroom upstairs. An excellent week in every respect.
