A cosy private cottage with good sized rooms and everything you need provided. Equipment and appliances are easy to use as is the heating system. Bedrooms are fitted with blackout blinds and thick curtains. The en suite bathroom had heated flooring which was lovely. The south facing garden is beautiful. Our dog enjoyed lying in the sun by the patio doors. Off lead walking for your dog is available at Fishpond Meadows and is a good area to meet other dogs. A big plus for Ashbourne. Roadworks were going on but these were not a problem while we were there and are due to be completed by 14th November 2025.The town is looking very good with the improvements.

The cottage was very clean and homely, but it was situated next to the rear entrance of a Kebab shop, the noise made by the employees there was very loud and always until 2 or 3 am in the morning, and security lights on and off all night made sleep virtually impossible, they had absolutely no consideration for local residents at all. For that reason alone we would not stay at Lace cottage again. We chose Ashbourne as we had visited there before and really liked it. But neither Cottages .com nor the Owner of the cottage told us at time of booking that there was major refurbishment of the town centre happening for 12 months and all the town centre roads were closed with barriers and virtually impossible to walk through the town, add that to the noise of heavy construction which was very loud. I understand this work is for the benefit of Ashbourne and had I been given this information before hand I would have waited until next year, cottages.com and the owner should have made us aware. I would suggest you avoid until next year.
