Wild Flower Cottage is praised for its superb location in Youlgreave, ideal for walks and local amenities, with guests enjoying the community feel and nearby attractions. The cottage is described as clean, comfortable, and cosy, though compact, with a well-equipped kitchen. Parking can be challenging, and there's no WiFi or mobile signal, but this doesn't detract from its charm and value.
Guests consistently mention that the cottage is clean and tidy, indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its stunning views, proximity to local pubs and shops, and direct access to walks, making it an ideal base for exploring the White Peak.
The cottage is repeatedly referred to as cosy and comfortable, though some guests suggest the bedding could be thicker and the space may be snug for four adults.
Facilities are generally well-received with a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of hot water. However, the lack of WiFi and mobile signal, and suggestions for minor updates, slightly lower the score.
There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host, so this category cannot be scored.

Wild Flower Cottage is a compact and cosy, traditional, terraced miner’s cottage with wonderful features adding to its charm, such as exposed stone walls and a beamed ceiling. Perfect for both summer and winter months, the property benefits from a decked terrace area to the rear, where you can enjoy a nice glass of wine and watch the sunset. There is a wood burner in the living room for those cooler evenings. The area is a popular base for walkers and cyclists and within the village there is a variety of traditional pubs and a couple of shops. Bradford Dale, the source of the water is just a 5-minute walk from the cottage and is home to a natural swimming pool for the brave. The ever-popular market town of Bakewell, home to the magnificent Chatsworth House and Gardens, is a leisurely 15-minute drive, as is Haddon Hall. You can join the Monsal Trail in Bakewell which provides a traffic-free route to Buxton. For those bigger thrill-seekers, Alton Towers (Britain’s premier theme park) is around a 45-minute drive. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

We had a very happy few days at Wildflower Cottage. Youlgreave provides a fantastic base from which to explore the White Peak. We walked directly from the door on a couple of days and enjoyed meals in the 3 local pubs. A visit to Chatsworth House whilst it’s decorated for Christmas is quite special. The cottage itself is compact and cosy with all the standard equipment, albeit more functional than opulent. There is no WiFi, nor mobile signal which maybe problematic for some. That is reflected in the great value pricing.

A cosy cottage with the most stunning view in the lovely village of Youlgreave. Very compact, not good for the larger person and very snug with four adults. However, situated in a great village with pubs, bakery, butchers and a great sense of community. Fabulous walks straight from the cottage.

Second visit this year. That speaks for itself. So many walks around Youlgreave. You don’t need to use your car. Three pubs that serve food in the village as well as an open all hours shop/post office.
