The location is praised for its serenity and proximity to local attractions, making it a delightful base for exploring the area.
Several guests noted the cottage was generally tidy and cosy, but a few reviews highlighted the need for a deep clean, particularly regarding musty smells and the washing machine. While not universally negative, cleanliness could be improved.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, rural charm, and proximity to the Peak District and local attractions. Guests enjoyed the quiet hamlet, beautiful views, and easy access to walks, though some noted the lack of nearby shops or restaurants.
Most guests found the cottage cosy and comfortable, enjoying the beds and tranquil setting. A few mentioned the cottage could feel cold at times and that the duvets were thin for early spring, but overall comfort was positively received.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, but some guests noted issues such as limited hot water, old heaters, a small TV, and a non-functional washing machine. While the kitchen and lounge met most needs, some maintenance and updates would enhance the experience.
Many guests appreciated the welcoming touches such as starter milk, cakes, tea, coffee, and toiletries. While these gestures are warmly received, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

My wife and I prefer country life to living in a city, as such we were quite content to enjoy the company of sheep within earshot and absolutely no noisy pubs, takeaways or taxi ranks within walking distance. The heating system is limited to electric only, but don't let that put you off, the owners set the heater controls to keep the cottage cozy and warm even during the few frosty nights that we experienced. There is lots to do in the area for both keen ramblers or pensioners like ourselves, we enjoyed visiting a variety of attractions travelling by car to reservoirs, historic mills, rock formations and caverns. In summary, we had a thoroughly enjoyable 7 night holiday, well done the owners.
