Winster is a picturesque conservation village in the White Peak part of the Peak District National Park, with a lovely market house from the 17th century serving as the village's focal point and numerous imposing 17th and 18th century residences, several of which are three stories in height. It is recommended that you take the time to explore the ginnels that connect Main Street, the East Bank, and the West Bank. Winster is well-known for its Morris dancers, pancake race on Shrove Tuesday, June Wakes celebrations, and July Secret Gardens of Winster. There is a well-stocked, community-owned general store with a Post Office in the heart of the village. Both bars serve cuisine in addition to the standard beers.
