Guests say

Apple Tree Cottage in Newport is a charming property with a spacious, well-equipped kitchen and a large garden featuring apple trees. Guests have enjoyed the local pub and nearby woodland walks. The property is suitable for families, though the steep stairs may be a concern for those with mobility issues or very young children.

The cottage's cleanliness received mixed reviews, with one report of a sticky kitchen table and dead flies upon arrival, but other reviews did not mention cleanliness issues. Quick response from the host to address concerns.

While guests have mentioned a local pub and woodland walks, there is not enough information to accurately score the location in terms of convenience, accessibility, or desirability.

The cottage is generally considered comfortable, with clean and comfortable beds and a spacious kitchen. However, the steep and narrow stairs could pose discomfort for some guests.

Facilities are highly praised, particularly the well-stocked kitchen. The garden is well-kept, and entertainment options like board games and a vinyl collection are appreciated. Some issues with TV programmes and cleanliness were noted.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. However, the provision of torches for the lack of street lighting suggests some consideration for guests' needs.

The cottage was lovely . The kitchen especially was very well stocked . Had a problem with the tv, getting some programmes. Sarah was only a phone call away for solving any problems we had though. Large garden area with lots of apple trees , cookers and eaters! Hence the cottage name Apple Tree ! Weather a bit chilly though so didn’t get to enjoy it . Local pub , The Crown served delicious food and staff very friendly. We enjoyed the quiz there which is held alternate Thursdays. No street lighting at night but there are torches provide in the cottage. We had a great 2 week stay here and would thoroughly recommend the cottage !

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. As per other reviews, excellent well stocked kitchen and yes, stairs are a bit steep so definitely not suitable for those with mobility issues/concerns. There are quite a few steps throughout the cottage. We, family of 4 (2 boys aged 7 and 11), stayed forb1 week and had a fantastic time there. The boys loved the garden and the boardgames and my eldest was fascinated by the vinyl collection! Would also highly recommend the woodland walk behind the cottage - so much fun!

Unpon arrival, the door draft excluder was soaking wet?The kitchen table was sticky and needed to be cleaned and so did the top of the cooker. When we moved the chairs in the conservatory behind them were lots of dead flies and it was just dirty. Rather disappointing start to the holiday considering the price. However, Sarah responded quickly to any questions. The kitchen is exceptionally fully equipped and very spacious. Beds clean and comfortable. Large clean bathroom. The stairs were steeper/narrower than anticipated. Not for the frail. Front door is exceptionally close to the passing traffic and so is the back gate.
