Shanklin is a delightful and popular seaside resort with a beautiful long sandy beach and backdrop of dramatic sandstone cliffs. There is lots to do here for all ages including the Shanklin Esplanade with seaside games, amusements, cafes and pubs, the tranquil Rylstone Gardens, Shanklin Chine and Shanklin Old Village with its charming thatched cottages, unique gift shops and tea rooms. Eating out will never be a problem, with a huge variety of restaurants, cafes and pubs across the whole of the town. Shanklin Theatre has a whole year programme of events to please all tastes. Getting around Shanklin is made easy with the great access to buses, trains, the cliff lift and lots of car parking. Hop on a bus and take a day trip north towards Sandown, Brading and Ryde, or head across the island to Godshill or Cowes, all worth a visit. Beach 2 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
