It resides within the owner’s 8-acre grounds and small holding, including a vineyard which guests are free to enjoy. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty provides access to footpaths and cycle routes, enabling you to explore the glorious, rural surroundings and enjoy horse riding and golf nearby. There is a local company from where you can hire electric bikes. Fig Cottage is ideally located for exploring Canterbury, just 9 miles away, where the skyline is dominated by its historic cathedral and is the oldest in England. For a day at the coast, towns such as Whitstable famous for its oysters, Hythe’s pebble beach, and Sandgate with interesting antique shops, are all well worth a visit. There is easy access to the Eurostar and the Channel Tunnel for those looking for something further afield in France, so don’t forget to bring your passport! Something closer to home is the local pub, where it not only feeds the family after a day’s exploring, it also provides a venue for craft fairs and farmers’ markets, and won an award for ’Kent pub of the year’ in the Kent life awards. Sehr schönes gemütliches Cottage das wunderbar ruhig gelegen ist. Ca 15 Minuten von Ashford entfernt und gut zu erreichen. In der Nähe findet sich ein Pub (Max 10 Minuten Fußweg). Sehr saubere Anlage auf einem Weingut mit viel Freiraum mit Grill und schöner Sitzgelegenheit im Garten. Im Sommer sicher wunderbar. Von innen ist es gehoben eingerichtet mit sehr schöner Küche und einem wunderbaren Ofen. Wir wurden von einem tollen Welcome Package überrascht. Die Zimmer zum schlafen hatten ein angenehmes Raumklima und ausreichend verdunkelbar. Der Kontakt mit den Vermietern auf dem Gelände war sehr freundlich und angenehm. Alles in allem sehr gut und gerne wieder.

We could not have been more delighted and impresed by this wonderful find. The most idyllic Fig Cottage in stunning grounds surrounded by wildlife and a working vineyard. The cottage has been renovated to an extremely high standard maintaining beautiful original features but also affording a feel of peace, serenity, luxury and cleanlines. The owners could not have been more helpful, friendly, and generous. They left high quality bathroom toiletries and a beautiful selection of local produce for the kitchen, including a bottle of wine produced and retailed from the grapes in their vineyard. We were privileged enough to be there on the one day a year when those grapes are harvested! We would recommend the local Five Bells pub just a few minutes walk away for a lovely atmosphere, great food and a more than decent pint!! This beautiful cottage and location are definitely worth a visit. Thank you so much Hester and Family for hosting us so Fabulously!! Annie & Sue **
