Guests say

The Bothy in Canterbury offers a tranquil and peaceful setting ideal for dog owners and those seeking quietude. Guests appreciate the private garden, comfortable bed, and good Wi-Fi. The location is praised for its beauty and proximity to historical sites. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive, with the property providing a lovely rural retreat.

Cleanliness is generally satisfactory, but some guests have noted the presence of cobwebs and outdoor areas needing attention. The property seems to be well-kept for the most part, but there is room for improvement in thoroughness.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, historical interest, and suitability for dog walking. It is considered central for visiting local attractions, contributing to a positive experience.

Comfort is generally well-regarded with mentions of a comfortable bed and sofa. However, one review mentioned poor quality bedding, suggesting some inconsistency in comfort levels.

Facilities are adequate with a good-sized kitchen and bathroom. However, some guests have reported issues with patio maintenance and a smoking fire, indicating that some facilities may require better upkeep.

While some guests mentioned a welcome pack, the contents varied and there is not enough consistent information to accurately score thoughtfulness. It should be noted that such gifts are a bonus and not guaranteed.

We have stayed in a few cottages over the years, this one was quite expensive, but not the best ! . Felt it was just at the end of the year, and they hadn't bothered ! Grass was long, brambles growing all over the patio floor by the table , we have two dogs so didn't want the thorns in their feet, luckily found pair of secateers, in the kitchen draw, so cut them off !! brick pathing full of weeds hence slippery. Patio furniture green with moss. No inside door mats, The bedding ! The lumpiest quilt ever ! Bedding poor quality cotton? Bath towels but no hand towels, 1 tea towel ! Welcome pack ? 1 pack of biscuits , Bootle of juice and semi skimmed milk ! Maybe we've been spoilt at others but we've had lovely scones jam and cream, bottle of wine , fresh eggs , even home made bread when we arrived, always a couple of dishwasher tablets, a J cloth etc etc.!!!! lovely spot , peaceful and central for most things to visit, the grass was cut Thursday afternoon, we left Friday, cleaner needs to look up, lots of cobwebs....... Not very impressed
