A lovely well appointed flat with a beautiful garden and a small swimming pool with a retractable roof. Local Co-op for essentials within a five minute walk. Fowey is in reality a thirty minute walk and the regular bus back - every twenty minutes - is a great asset, car parking is expensive and still requires a bit of a hike back up from the town.A great place to stay with lots of walks and beaches within a short drive. We have been the Carnethic before and will certainly return

Only a 3 for location as the very steep uphill walk from the town centre was really hard work and the little local bus didn’t run after 5 o’clock meaning evening strolls and restaurants were off the agenda.

The flat was really lovely and very clean so would highly recommend. The highlight for us was the balcony. It was so large and relaxing. The flat was in a very quiet location with a large drive with an allocated bay at the front of the property. We appreciated the welcome gifts and the kitchen had all the basics you required eg washing up liquid, sharp knives, dishwasher tablets and a big gas range etc. We were a little concerned about the storage heaters but the flat was a comfortable temperature during our stay. For future stayers, there is a new Co-op just around the corner within walking distance where you can get your basics and a Tesco about 15 mins drive away. However do be aware that the flat is on the outskirts of Fowey. We liked that as it made driving to other sites outside Fowey easy. However it is quite a walk in and a very challenging one back due to the steep narrow lanes so if you have mobility issues that could potentially be an issue. Saying that on occasion we drove down to the main car park (parking fees apply) and walked in and treated ourselves to the £2 bus back which is incredibly regular throughout the day and would be a way to resolve any issues if you don't fancy walking. The bus takes you down into Fowey for a £1 if you need it. Fowey itself is gorgeous and would highly recommend. If we could suggest any improvements, we would appreciate larger towels (they were lovely and soft but didn't reflect the luxury nature of the place), a few extra toilet rolls (we had a starter set) and a Bluetooth speaker. The beds were comfortable, bedrooms had loads of storage, the bathrooms although a little small were adequate and we enjoyed the quality of the furnishings throughout the property. We look forward to returning as it was a treat to stay there.
