New England is a reverse-living cottage situated in a tranquil hamlet just over 8 miles from the coast, these four beautiful cottages have been converted from barns dating back to 1824, and retain many original features. Tregrill Farm, where the owner lives on-site, is ideally located for visiting the whole of Cornwall, South Devon, Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, with countryside walks accessible directly from the door. The stunning South Cornwall coast, with its attractive fishing villages such as Polperro and Looe as well as the famous South West Coastal Path, is a short drive away. The fishing port of Looe can also be reached by taking the scenic train journey from Liskeard, 2 miles away. The maritime city of Plymouth is only a 30-minute drive away with the National Marine Aquarium and its historic Barbican district. The fantastic Eden Project, 10 miles, Cotehele and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are amongst the many wonderful Cornish gardens and historic houses which are within easy reach of Tregrill Farm. The Rame Peninsula, known as Cornwall’s Forgotten Corner, is close by with picturesque villages and quiet beaches and Whitsand Bay, which is popular with surfers, is only 12 miles away. Water sports such as windsurfing, canoeing and fishing can also be enjoyed at Siblyback Lake, 5 miles; Adrenalin Quarry and karting are less than a mile away. Beach 8¾ miles. Shop and pub ½ mile, restaurant 1 mile.

We had an amazing day at The New England cottage, it was equipped with everything we needed for our week stay. We received a little welcome pack which was a gorgeous little touch, the coffee and milk was very much needed after a 6 hour drive to the lodge from home. We will definitely be returning.

A good comfortable base for family gathering and exploring south East Cornwall. Excellent games room. Maybe a little tlc needed in the bathrooms

A lovely, renovated early 19 century barn. Part of a charming hamlet of characterful buildings dating from 15th to 20th centuries each decorated in a different style. "New England" is east coast USA, Martha's Vineyard style with lots of wood trims, pastel colours and reclaimed shipwreck artefacts. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. There is an excellent games room on site. Small niggles: we were there in the hottest May week on record and a couple of fans would have been useful! Also, a slight musty smell in some of the kitchen drawers. Electric cars can be charged nearby at Morrisons and on A 38 towards Plymouth but NOT at the residence.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hosts were pleasant and helpful.
