Come and create your own stories and memories in one of these beautiful holiday cottages, converted from the original barns and stables. Relax in one of the family friendly and dog friendly cottages. The whole family is welcome so that you can all enjoy your holiday together. Children will love having the space to run around and let off steam and parents can relax, relaxed in the knowledge that the little ones are happily playing. There is also play equipment and garden games to ensure that there is something for everyone, whatever their age.
Cartole Cottages are centrally located for easy exploration of Cornwall and Devon. Take a day trip to The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock House and many other National Trust properties. Or be inspired by the locations which influenced Daphne Du Maurier’s and Rosamunde Pilcher’s famous novels and also where the TV series Poldark and Doc Martin were filmed. Beach 4½ miles. Shop 1¼ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Shippen and couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend the week. The cottage was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, and had everything we needed to feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Perfect location- peaceful and relaxing, with beautiful surroundings, yet still conveniently close to everything we wanted to explore. The hosts were very friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, making sure everything was perfect throughout our stay. Their attention to detail really made a difference.We would highly recommend the Shippen to anyone looking for a comfortable, cosy, and memorable getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thank you for a fantastic week!
