Designed for two, this coastal base invites couples or solo travellers to shape their days around the sea, from early walks beside the water to evenings spent watching the changing light across the horizon. Step into the open-plan living space, where the kitchen, dining area, and sitting area with wonderful sunrise and sunset views bring everything together. Prepare breakfast using the oven and gas hob while the kettle boils, then settle at the dining area to map out a route along the Cornish coast.

After an afternoon on the sand, return to the sitting area and choose a programme on the TV, or carry a drink into the garden, where the patio and furniture provide a spot to savour the sea air. When the day draws to a close, the double bedroom awaits with its own TV and en-suite shower room, complete with a walk-in shower, basin, and WC. A shop, pub serving food, and beach are all close by, placing everyday essentials and coastal outings within easy reach. Begin in Marazion, where the causeway leads towards St Michael’s Mount, with its historic castle, terraced gardens, and sweeping views across Mount’s Bay.

Continue to Penzance to explore the collections at Penlee House Gallery and Museum, stroll among the subtropical planting of Morrab Gardens, or follow the promenade beside the water. For another picturesque outing, visit Mousehole, where stone cottages gather around the harbour and walks lead onwards along the coastline. You can also spend time exploring the coves and coastal scenery surrounding Mount’s Bay before returning for an alfresco supper as evening settles over Lower Kenneggy. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbour. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base.
