Polhaun Holiday Apartments sit in an enviable elevated position with spectacular views directly over Mevagissey Harbour and sweeping 360 degree views around the bay. Each of these four apartments (UKC3536, UKC3537, UKC3538 and UKC3539), sit adjacent to the owner’s home, and have their own patio with table and chairs and spectacular coastal views. Each have a private parking space, which is very rare for properties in Mevagissey. The apartments are set in pleasant landscaped grounds with raised flower beds, pathways and a pretty fish pond.
They are conveniently located for Mevagissey and Portmellon, with shops, restaurants, café’s, art galleries and a choice of good pubs all within 1 mile. The historic inner harbour was built around 1774 and is famous for its pilchard fishing and stories of smuggling. Mevagissey is still a working fishing harbour alongside water sports activities and pleasure trips. Colourful cottages dot the hillside and meandering pathways lead to coastal footpaths along to Pentewan and Portmellon. The area is perfect for exploring the diverse corners of Cornwall, and for garden lovers The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are easily accessed. The historic harbour of Charlestown is a short drive with tall ships and maritime museum. The harbour has featured in a number of TV series and high profile films. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

We had a wonderful week at the Lowenna. The apartment is perfect for two people, very comfortable and clean. The owner Tom was very friendly, chatty and helpful. Due to the narrow roads in Mevagissey, I was reluctant to retrace my drive through the village (except when going home). And unfortunately due to my partner’s mobility problems, it was not possible to walk down to the harbour. So we booked a taxi on one of the days. A couple of days we just sat in the garden taking in the magnificent views and sunshine. The other days we drove to Portmellon beach, just a short drive through a local housing estate, where there is some on road parking. You have to pay £2 per hour, if you park in the car park next to ‘The Shack’. I would recommend the Lowenna, at the Polhuan Apartments for a quiet and peaceful time with wonderful, beautiful views.

Ideal accommodation for a couple for a week. The place is clean and had everything you would need for a short break. The owner Tom is very friendly and the views are amazing, looking down to the harbour and the coastline . As for the bed, I have never slept in a bed so comfy!Would highly recommend. Will definitely be returning.
