Puffin Burrow is a charming, historic, romantic couples retreat by the edge of the beautiful cove, in the traditional Cornish village of Portmellon.
There are wonderful sea views stretching out across pretty Chapel Point from the bedroom, living room, patio and lower terrace. Owned by an interior designer and an artist this 18th century traditional Fishermans cottage has been sensitively modernised whilst retaining its period character. With the glorious Cornish sea air and tranquil sounds of waves lapping just outside, Puffin Burrow offers a relaxing and calming escape to reinvigorate the soul.
The cottage is on the South West Coastal Path with great walks in both directions. Garden enthusiasts will appreciate the close proximity of the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Others will love relaxing on their choice of two terraces, watching the day go by.
Portmellon is a quiet attractive cove surrounding a sandy beach. 50 yards from Puffin Burrow there is a traditional old smugglers pub serving local ales. There are kayak and paddle board hire facilities and an outside café in the summer months. Portmellon is a short walk away from the pretty harbour of Mevagissey with its quaint cottages around the fishing harbour supporting a great variety of pubs, shops and restaurants.

Had a wonderful holiday in the beautiful Puffin Burrow holiday house. I absolutely loved the interior decor and the position and views were idyllic. Especially liked lying in bed at night with the window open listening to the waves. We did lots of fabulous trips, walks and eating out most of which we did on the recommendations of Danny and Wendy the very helpful owners who sent an email before we arrived with lots of ideas of what to do. A great holiday indeed.

Superb holiday accommodation in the most idyllic of locations overlooking the sea. The cottage was immaculate presented and beautifully decorated. Great eateries 10/15 minute walk away. Coastal walks straight from the doorstep, so no need to use the car every day, a welcome break. I loved sitting on the sun terraces reading my book even in April, 2 fabulous sun trap terraces what a treat. If you fancy a swim don’t forget to bring your costume the bay is popular for swimmers. A little bit of heaven. Just perfect.

Lovely weeks break over the new year. Beautiful seeing the sunsets and the beach was right on the doorstep.Megavissey was a 10 minute walk.We took our dog with us and he loved the walks and the beach. Puffin burrows was a wonderful cottage. Seeing the sea first thing and we were lucky enough to see a sea lion a couple of times.Thank you for letting us stay here Danny & Wendy. We will return
