About this property

Trevega is a homely and welcoming, detached bungalow in the quiet neighbourhood of Higher Tristram, near Polzeath, Cornwall. This self-catering holiday home is located in an elevated position, enjoying spectacular sea views over Polzeath Bay and towards Pentire Head on the north Cornwall coast. Possible to accommodate six guests, Trevega offers a well-positioned, and well-equipped base for families and friends. Check the surf from the lawned garden and sun terrace and relax on the sheltered patio to the south of the property, with an adjacent private footpath providing easy access to Polzeath beach and shops from the house. A huge window in the lounge offers panoramic sea views, where you can sink into the sofa and watch the rolling tides and surfers, before taking advantage of the well-equipped kitchen. Catch some rest and enjoy yet more sea views from two of the three bedrooms on offer, selecting between a king-size, a twin, and a bunk room, all serviced by a bathroom and cloakroom. Pets are welcome to stay at the property by prior arrangement; the coastal paths and beaches of Daymer Bay and Rock provide wonderful walks and stunning landscapes for dogs and their owners. A stay in Polzeath ticks all the boxes for a family holiday; with a choice of places to eat, a good grocery store, boutiques, galleries, and gift shops there is no need to go far. Surfers of all abilities are well-catered for with surf schools and hire readily available. During high summer, listen to St Minver Silver Band play on the green in the evenings, or join the coastal path for rugged walks up and down the cliffs; keep your eyes peeled for seals and sea birds. Head upstream to Daymer Bay for more mellow waters, perfect for paddling and bathing; children will love sandcastle building and exploring the many rock pools. Offering something for everyone, book your next break at Trevega.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.

We absolutely love this cottage - we have stayed here loads and will hopefully continue to do so. It has everything we need as an active family of 5 and the view from the lounge is just fantastic. Thank you so much for another brilliant holiday!

We’d read previous reviews about this and were surprised it hadn’t been addressed. The iron plate was dirty and inside there was a build up of limescale which marked my jeans when I used it. Apart from those annoyances the house was lovely- comfortable and homely and we’ll definitely be booking for next year.

) The beds are comfy, the kitchen is well equipped, the shower is great, there's an outside hose for rinsing wetsuits and the view is spectacular. We will definitely be back.
