The Promenade Deck is a beautifully presented three bedroom, two bathroom, duplex apartment situated in the pretty village of Kingswear. There are stunning River Dart and rolling country views from many of the rooms and balcony. The kitchen and bathrooms are equipped to a good standard and on road parking is available outside the property. It is just a ten minute walk down hill to the quay, ferries, steam railway station, village shop, bistro, café and two public houses which both serve food. Rolling sandy beaches and scenic golf courses are within easy reach.

We had a fantastic 7-day stay at The Promenade Deck. Arriving in the dark we didn’t see the full extent of the views until the next day - but what a view when we woke! Pretty at night and beautiful by day, there was always plenty to observe, from the boats crisscrossing the Dart, to the steam engines coming and going. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the sunsets each evening. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. The master bedroom has sloping ceilings so be aware of that if you have mobility issues. The shower is powerful and the bathroom is spacious, including a great washer/dryer for keeping on top of the washing. The kitchen is quite small but has everything you’d need to prepare meals. The dining table is a pleasure to sit at as you can admire the view as you eat! The property was clean and welcoming. The walk to the ferry or steam train station is down a steep road, but we took it slowly and it was fine. Allow time for stopping on the way up to catch your breath and admire the views! We were a party of parents, grandparent and child and all could manage the walk by being sensible. We ate at The Ship pub at the bottom of the hill and had a nice meal. There is a cafe where we had a take out coffee, and the train station has a cafe too. The ferry is easy to find and goes regularly to Dartmouth throughout the day. There is on-road parking available. We stayed at the height of the season in August and managed to find a space each evening somewhere along the road. There are steps to the front door. The area is quiet with not much traffic passing by. We heard no noise at night, except the tawny owls! We loved our stay and did not want to leave!

We enjoyed our stay, great views from the balcony and easy parking. It's on a hill with steps leading up to the property, but that's how you get the views.
