Situated in an enviable position on the banks of the Torridge Estuary, the incredible decked roof terrace and private balcony both offer unrivalled viewing platforms that perfectly capture the constantly changing coastal scene, looking towards the picturesque village of Instow and beyond. It provides the perfect location for both sunbathing and boat watching, as well as being an excellent setting for al fresco dining on the terrace. Its proximity to the water means crabbing is possible whilst sitting on the edge of the balcony during high tide, which is also great for children and adults! Shorewaters Cottage has been sympathetically renovated for holiday lettings and offers stylish living accommodation in neutral, contemporary tones. It can comfortably accommodate six people and features two double bedrooms, both with river views, a third bedroom with a bunk bed, and a spacious open-plan living/kitchen, and dining area. There is also a bathroom with a shower over the bath and an additional first-floor wet room.
Positioned on a quiet backwater street, Shorewaters is located within easy walking distance of Appledore’s bustling quay and quaint village, which hosts a wide range of cafés, public houses and boutique shops. From the quay, you can take either the ferry across the river or enjoy the short drive to Instow, which offers a quiet inlet and a dog-friendly sandy beach along with a selection of pubs and restaurants specialising in locally caught seafood. The historic port town of Bideford is just two miles away, as is the sandy beach of Westward Ho!, which is popular with surfers, windsurfers and beach lovers alike. Alternative popular beaches, including Croyde, Woolacombe and Combe Martin, are also still within a short drive from the cottage. There are plenty of local attractions and amenities nearby, including Northam golf course, horse riding stables, an indoor swimming pool, fishing, sailing and water skiing facilities. Other family attractions include the Big Sheep and Milky Way theme parks, Dartington Crystal Factory, Tapeley Park, the Tarka Trail, which is popular with walkers and cyclists, and the Atlantic Village shopping centre.

A fantastic week. The view! Who knew just watching the water and the comings and goings could keep you entertained. There were only two of us, with two dogs and it was perfect for us. The stair gate was really useful to keep the dogs downstairs. The kitchen was so well equipped we were able to cook some lovely meals. The bed at the top of the house so comfy! We would love to return. The house and surroundings were perfect. We found parking on the street that runs parallel and only a short walk away.

Good position with excellent views. Our 2nd visit to the cottage this year. Roof terrace lovely in the sunshine. Kitchen well equipped and the welcome hamper is a nice touch.However, some attention needed i.e. sofa and carpets need cleaning, fix leaking shower in bathroom, replace mattress in main bedroom. Considered returning again next year but surprised to see significant increase in rental cost. Hope that the additional income will result in the necessary improvements to justify the increase.

Beautiful property with such amazing views. The property is immaculate, I was a bit dubious about booking a property that accepted dogs but I needn’t have worried as the place was spotless and certainly didn’t smell of dogs. If you want somewhere to relax and unwind then this is the place for you !!
