The Old Dairy in Newnham is a well-received cottage, praised for its peaceful location, spaciousness, and secure garden, particularly appreciated by dog owners. Guests commend the friendly and helpful owner, Steve, and enjoy the property's amenities, including a log burner and well-equipped kitchen. The surrounding area offers beautiful countryside and local attractions.
Cleanliness received mixed reviews. Some guests found the property clean and comfortable, while others noted issues with kitchen and bathroom cleanliness, requiring additional cleaning upon arrival. The presence of cobwebs and dust was mentioned, suggesting room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, proximity to the Forest of Dean, and the village of Newnham. The secure garden and nearby fields are a bonus for dog owners. However, some guests noted road noise when in the garden.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a warm atmosphere, a log burner, and a secure garden. The property is spacious and the bed is comfortable, although one guest found the mattress too soft. The reclining sofa is a highlight for relaxation.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen, secure garden, and additional amenities like a log burner and Wi-Fi. However, some guests reported maintenance issues such as a non-working kitchen extractor and a need for shower resealing. The garden and entrance require tidying.
While guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like a welcome bottle of milk and chocolates, there is not enough consistent information about gifts or additional thoughtful gestures to provide a score. It should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

Everything we could possibly need was provided for us including linen and towels. The log fire which we lit each evening made the sitting/dining room very cosy. The kitchen was particularly well appointed with double oven, hob, microwave, toaster and air fryer. The wardrobes in the bedroom are of high quality and the fully enclosed garden was a very safe space for our two dogs. We would most certainly revisit.

The cottage was well stocked with logs for the log burner and had everything you needed (kitchen goods, towels, books, DVDs etc) our dogs were very settled there and we spent a lovely couple of days just relaxing. Steve was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will definitely return.
