Located in the rural village of Charlton Adam in Somerset is The Coach House, a delightful cottage, inviting two guests. Enjoying countryside views and a great position near a range of amenities, whilst complete with a private hot tub, well-equipped kitchen, and a studio-style double bedroom, The Coach House makes the ideal base for a romantic escape. Benefit from off-road parking, before making your way through the front patio, and in through the stable door, where you'll access the kitchen/diner, well-equipped to rustle up delicious meals. Choose to dine in, or alfresco upon the patio, where you can also enjoy an indulgent soak in the hot tub as the sky grows darker. Refresh in the ground-floor shower room, before climbing the stairs to reach the double bedroom, also complete with a dining area and sitting area, to relax and unwind with elevated vistas. Come morning, enjoy breakfast upon the patio, before exploring the rolling countryside surrounding the village; Combe Hill Wood is nearby, perfect for hiking across, whilst the Mendip Hills AONB is reachable by car, where you can tour the remains of The Bishop's Palace & Gardens, or opt for a guided stroll through Wookey Hole Caves. Glastonbury is a recommended stop off, brimming with culture, heritage, and magnificent architecture, where you'll have the chance to visit the Somerset Rural Life Museum, discover Glastonbury Abbey, hike up to the National Trust grounds of Glastonbury Tor, or bird watch across RSPB Ham Wall. Complete your getaway by enjoying a picnic at Yeovil Country Park, or touring the Montacute House, an Elizabethan mansion with pretty gardens, before heading for Dorset AONB and the coast. Spend quality time with your loved one at The Coach House.
A charming village called Charlton Adam may be found in Somerset, halfway between Somerton and Kingweston. The village, which has a post office, and a pub named the Fox & Hounds, makes a nice home base for a self-catered trip, with further services located in Babcary and Somerton just a few miles away and easily accessible by car. Nearby attractions include Wheathill Golf Club, where you can practise your swing, Lytes Cary Manor, a stunning manor house encircled by lovely gardens and owned by the National Trust, and Combe Hill Wood, a sizable National Forest. In the direction of the Mendip Hills aonb, there are other points of interest, including the Bishop's Palace & Gardens, the Wookey Hole Caves, and the walking and cycling routes in the Ebbor Gorge National Nature Reserve. Weymouth and the Isle of Portland, which are recommended stops for a taste of both the coast and the countryside, are accessible from Charlton Adam via the Dorset aonb.
