You will find numerous restaurants and bars on Torwood Street and around the inner harbour plus upmarket restaurant, just a 1-minute walk away in Parkhill Road. Living Coasts, Torquays coastal zoo, is another 2-minute walk away.
The beaches at Torre Abbey Sands and Meadfoot are both within walking distance, as is the Torquay stretch of the South West Coast Path, which leads to Shaldon. The medieval Torre Abbey, is around 5 minutes away. Other nearby attractions are Babbacombe Model Village, Kents Cavern and Bygones.

Excellent cottage with great facilities a few minutes walk from the centre of Torquay. The cottage is up a steep hill (Torquay is quite hilly) so the less fit might want to take that into consideration. A Co-op is a few minutes walk away for essential items, and there are loads of cafes, pubs and restaurants around the harbour. There's lots to do in and around Torquay! We enjoyed leaving the car at the cottage and walking down to the harbour for a trip across the bay to Brixham (best fish and chips ever), walking part of the South West Coast Path out past Meadfoot Beach, taking the train to Exeter via Dawlish and riding the bus to Babbecombe model village. We also visited the Agatha Christie's Greenway house (car park booking essential) and the South Devon Railway (great cafe and model railway shop). If we visit Torquay again, we might skip the 6 hour drive to get there and go by train as a public transport is great when you get there.
