Honey Cottage is a charming, traditional cottage in a peaceful location, ideal for exploring the Suffolk coast. Guests praise its cosy atmosphere, delightful garden, and proximity to local amenities and scenic walks. The cottage is well-suited for dog owners and those seeking a relaxing break. While the quirky, steep staircase and temperamental shower are noted challenges, most guests found their stay enjoyable and would return. The local pub and tranquil surroundings add to the appeal, making it a lovely base for a Suffolk getaway.
Cleanliness is generally satisfactory, with several guests describing the cottage as clean and bedding as fresh. However, some reviews mention cobwebs, dead spiders, and unwashed oven trays, indicating occasional lapses in cleaning standards.
The location is highly praised for its peaceful setting, proximity to local walks, beaches, and a welcoming pub. Guests appreciate the quiet village atmosphere and easy access to nearby attractions.
The cottage is described as cosy, comfortable, and well-suited for relaxation, with a lovely garden and wood burner. However, the steep, narrow staircase and tricky shower detract from overall comfort, particularly for those with mobility issues.
Facilities are adequate, with a well-equipped kitchen and pleasant garden. Some guests note issues with the shower, ovenware, dishwasher, and outdoor lighting. The property would benefit from minor upgrades and clearer instructions regarding parking and heating.
While guests appreciate the information booklet and would welcome more local tips, there is no mention of welcome gifts or complimentary items. Some suggest a small welcome pack or initial supply of logs would enhance the experience, but these are not guaranteed.

Stayed in this quaint & quirky cottage for a long weekend middle of May. Had an excellent time. It was chilly a couple of nights so we used the log burning stove which was lovely and made it super cosy! Cottage had everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again. Visited local pub which is a 2 minute walk. They do amazing food and very welcoming! Lots of beautiful places to visit just a short drive away

A nice little cottage, well placed for exploring the Suffolk coast but in need of TLC. The challenging stairs are certainly ‘quirky’ as described but that actually means anyone with mobility issues, or who needs to visit the downstairs loo in the night, should look elsewhere - or maybe bring a guzunder. The stairs also make getting a case upstairs challenging. There’s a pleasant ambience to the cottage and the kitchen diner is spacious but, with the exception of an air fryer, it’s not well equipped. Just 4 usable mugs and no teapot so we bought one and have left it for future guests. The oven trays were fit for the tip and we found one in a dirty state. The dishwasher door is broken so needs two people to load and unload, one to hold the door open. The lounge is cosy with a wood burner but no wood and the lighting is too dim to read by comfortably. What’s with the Luton town coasters -this is ITFC country! The bedrooms have cracked plaster from previous water penetration which has not been repaired and the paintwork on windowsills is cracked and peeling. The shower is fine once you master the tweak to get it to flow and this is explained in notices. However it’s time to regrout as mould is starting to build. We enjoyed our visits to the nearby pub. It’s wonderfully dark outside but bring a torch as none is provided. We think it was renovated and decorated around 5years ago but holiday cottages really need attention yearly to keep them up to today’s expected standard.

We had read the reviews so knew about the shower and once you get the hang of it, it was fine.Other than that we had a great stay in Suffolk and lived the cottage
