This perfectly positioned, single-storey barn conversion is set on the banks of the Llangollen Canal and has well tended grounds and gardens. Canal View is an immaculate property, inside and out. The quality throughout is complemented by the contemporary décor and soft furnishings. Tetchill is a quiet Shropshire hamlet, located between the market town of Oswestry, Whittington, with its 13th-century castle, set in 12 acres of grounds, where re-enactments often take place, and Ellesmere, known locally as Shropshire’s Lakeland, with boating on the meres. The close proximity to the Welsh borders is ideal to explore towns such as Llangollen which is famous for its canal, horse drawn barges, white water rafting to tubing, and world famous Eisteddfod. There are National Trust properties nearby including Chirk Castle, Erddig Hall, Powys Castle and Attingham Park. The historic city of Chester with its race course and abundance of shops set in quaint streets is approximately a 40 minutes drive away. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

An idyllic cottage, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Set by the side of canal, ducks and swans to be seen all day, and enjoyed the sights of the narrow boats passing. The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard with all mod cons. Flowers, home made cake and chilled bubbly waiting for us on arrival were very thoughtful touches. A perfect base for exploring the Llangollen and Oswestry area. Highly recommended.

Pleasant holiday cottage with nice view. Generous welcome pack too. Plenty to do in the locality and some decent pubs for food . We enjoyed the peacefulness of the place .

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Canal View. It was everything we were hoping for and more! The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. All items were of a good quality and well maintained. The owners were lovely without being intrusive and seem to have thought of everything. We loved all of the duck visitors and watching the canal boats go by at the end of the garden. We hugely underestimated how much duck food we would need to keep them all happy! Thankfully Pets Pantry in Ellesmere had ample supplies for us to stock up. We enjoyed trips Brooklands Farm for delicious ice-cream. Ludlow for the farm shop. The Boathouse and The Black Lion at Ellesmere for food and drinks. A walk along the canal towards Ellesmere. A walk around the mere at Ellesmere. B Hawkins and Sons butchers on Cross Street had a fantastic range of BBQ options. Whittington Castle to see the ruins and Oteley Estate to see the Highland cows. The scotch egg and quiche from the farm shop was VERY good! We also visited Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks which is well worth a visit if you enjoy shopping! We also visited Rhyl beach, as an online search suggested it was accessible for wheelchair users. Although accessible it lacked any charm and there didn’t really seem to be anything of interest. The welcome pack was more than generous and very much appreciated after a long journey. Top marks for the Lemon Drizzle Cake. Absolutely gorgeous!We would definitely like to visit again.
