Guests say

The Forge is a spacious and characterful cottage set in picturesque surroundings, ideal for both pets and children. Guests appreciate the friendly reception and the proximity to local attractions. The enclosed courtyard adds charm, and the site's amenities, including a cafe and park, enhance the stay. While some guests mention maintenance issues, the overall experience is positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The cottage generally appears clean, but some guests noted cobwebs and limescale stains. There were also comments about dog mess in the courtyard, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness.

The location is well-received, with guests enjoying the short drives to local attractions and the site's own picturesque setting. The proximity to Beverley and other towns is a plus, although caution is advised when turning onto the busy main road.

Comfort levels are mixed, with some guests finding the beds too firm and the noise from adjoining cottages noticeable. However, the spaciousness and original features of the cottage are praised.

Facilities are appreciated when functioning, but several guests reported issues with maintenance, such as blocked sinks, non-working heating, and building noise. The quick resolution of some problems by the reception team is noted.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Excellent cottage with a few snags, building work right next to us from 8am every morning, no chance of a lay in and not pre warned, sink blocked in twin room, reported to reception and nothing done about it, little or no sound proofing between neighbours, over all a pleasant stay but wouldn’t like to go in season when it’s busy, just our choice.

Bathroom facilities not maintained or usable, understand it was self catering but not even the basics under the sink. The space was nice, the location good.
