About this property
This delightful, two-bedroom cottage in the historic village of Boltby, a resting point for the Cleveland Way and true James Herriot country, is tucked away at the far end of the village allowing guests to enjoy village life from the doorstep, whilst being close to the bustling market towns of Helmsley and Thirsk.
Lark Rise dates back over two hundred years and has been lovingly renovated to provide comfortable holiday accommodation. Enter via the porch into a wonderful dining area leading guests through to the well-equipped kitchen on the right or step up to the left and simply relax in the tastefully decorated sitting room with sumptuous sofa flanking the well-paced wood burning stove. There is plenty of space for everyone to socialise together or to relax in a quiet corner with a book. Each bedroom on the first floor is generous and offers luxury cotton bedlinen and feel like down duvets, adding to the luxury we all need once in a while. The enclosed small patio area, accessed via the French doors from the sitting room, is another tranquil option for chilling out while on holiday, or planning your itinerary over morning coffee to many local places of interest.
Boltby itself is a pretty village, known for it picture postcard cottages, historic church and Grade II listed pack horse bridge. There is even Boltby Trekking and Trail Riding Centre to enjoy and Boltby Forest, proving a popular day out for cyclists and walkers alike. Boltby really is an excellent starting point for outdoor enthusiasts with a variety of walks and hikes to explore the beautiful local countryside close by. Lark Rise really is a perfect retreat for family and friends of all ages, enjoy it.

This is a beautiful home from home. Tastefully decorated and thoughtfully kitted out with absolutely everything you think you might need and then some! A very thoughtful and generous gift hamper awaited us on our arrival, along with fresh flowers. Very quiet and relaxing. The owners are delightful: cheerful, helpful and thoughtful without being intrusive. We will absolutely return!

A very tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean cottage set in a quiet village in the Hambleton Hills .The owners live next door and were very friendly without being obtrusive and they left a very good hamper for us to enjoy. The cottage is very well situated between Thirsk and Helmsley ,both good for shopping and also Northallerton which has a brilliant high street We recommend for food Abbey inn at Byland owned by Tommy Banks, also The Star at Harome for a special dining experience .Very nearby is The Carpenters Arms about 5 minutes drive away. The cottage is probably one of the best we have stayed in and felt very homely and all credit to the owners who have thought of everything to make for a comfortable stay We will hopefully return next year to Lark Rise

As a family of 5, including 3 young children, we stayed at Lark Rise for a week. We were very impressed with the beautiful home and enjoyed our stay immensely. The owners, David and Jo, are thoroughly gracious hosts and were both attentive with any requirements we had requested at the time of booking and also really helpful with recommendations for day trips etc utilising their knowledge of this part of Yorkshire. The house itself is very tastefully decorated and furnished, the kitchen was fully equipped, the beds/bedding were just so comfortable and the bathrooms in keeping with the rest of the house. We were very kindly invited to a brief tour of the farm where the children helped feed the lambs, which they loved!!! We will remember this stay for a long time.....and very likely will stay again in the future
