About this property

14 Hill Close is a charming detached holiday home situated in the picturesque village of Reeth, North Yorkshire. Perfect for families or friends, it offers off-road parking for four cars and welcomes two well-behaved pets. With a local shop and pub nearby, it promises a delightful countryside retreat. Welcome to this delightful property, where charm and comfort await at every turn. As you step inside, you’ll find yourself welcomed by the open-plan living and dining space, which truly serves as the heart of the home. A Smart TV invites you to relax, while a woodburning stove offers warmth on those chillier evenings, creating the perfect atmosphere. The dining area offers ample seating for all your guests to gather and indulge in a meal crafted with care in the fully equipped kitchen. The accommodation comprises five double bedrooms, one conveniently located on the ground floor, with the remaining four on the upper levels. Each room comes with its own en-suite for added privacy. Among them, the fifth bedroom stands out, it comes with its own Smart TV, ideal for those laid-back mornings when you’re not quite ready to leave the comfort of your bed. The ground floor also features a cloakroom with a basin and WC. Step outside to the enclosed rear garden, an absolute gem for those who love to make the most of outdoor living. You’ll find a patio equipped for alfresco dining, complete with a bar, pizza oven, and barbecue, the perfect setting for those long, warm summer evenings with family and friends. Venture out and delve into the local area, where a wealth of attractions await you. Wander through the madness and mayhem of The Forbidden Corner, a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and surprises. Immerse yourself in history with visits to the imposing fortresses of Richmond Castle and Bolton Castle, before heading over to Middleham Castle, once the childhood home of Richard III. For culture enthusiasts, a visit to the Georgian Theatre Royal, Britain's oldest working theatre in its original form, should not be missed. Lastly, make your way to Bowes Castle, an intriguing example of a medieval keep. As you explore, remember that whichever path you take, there's no place like 14 Hill Close to return to at the end of the day.

The pretty, ever-popular village of Reeth rests at the northern tip of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where Arkengarthdale and Swaledale meet, nestled between Calver Hill, Fremington Edge and Harkerside. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with lovely rolling hills and spectacular views, Reeth boasts a colourful history as it was originally a Saxon settlement, and has also been known as a lead mining town and a centre for hand knitting throughout its time. Both trades are proudly featured in the Swaledale Museum, located alongside a good range of shops, tea rooms and restaurants. For a quaint little community, Reeth is well-served by traditional inns, with three to choose from, including the lovely Buck Hotel, whitewashed like so many of the 18th century cottages huddled around the triangular village green. The historic market towns of Richmond and Leyburn are also within easy reach, offering a further selection of amenities. Askrigg is just a short drive away, as well as Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater and Hardraw Force (England's highest single drop waterfall at 99ft). Reeth offers a fantastic base for exploring North Yorkshire's beautiful, sweeping countryside, whether you choose to discover the caves, cliffs, waterfalls or the plethora of walking and cycling routes that circle this vibrant and varied landscape.
