Guests say

Cooper's Cottage in Pickering is a charming and well-located property with a mix of positive feedback. Guests appreciate the spacious bedrooms, comfortable beds, and the enclosed area for dogs. The location is ideal for exploring North Yorkshire, with easy access to shops, eateries, and attractions. Some guests have noted thoughtful touches like welcome gifts.

Cleanliness scores are generally positive, with most guests finding the property well-maintained. However, a few reviews mention areas needing attention, such as dog hair on the sofa, unclean kitchen drawers, and a bathroom that could be cleaner. These issues suggest room for improvement.

The location of Cooper's Cottage is highly praised for its proximity to local amenities, the North Yorkshire moors, and the coastline. Guests appreciate the convenience of nearby shops, takeaways, and the ease of exploring Pickering and surrounding areas.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, highlighting the cosy atmosphere, warm rooms, and comfortable beds. Some concerns are raised about steep stairs and a lack of handrails, which could affect the comfort and safety of those with mobility issues.

Facilities at the cottage receive mixed reviews. Positive remarks are made about the updated front room and lovely bathroom, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as stiff taps, loose kitchen taps, and a shower door that opens during use. These indicate that some facilities could benefit from better upkeep.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is noted in several reviews, with guests mentioning welcome gifts such as wine and chocolates. While these gestures are appreciated, it's important to note that such gifts are a bonus and not a guaranteed amenity for every stay.

Just one area my wife and I feel should be addressed is the lack of an opening window in the bedroom. We both like fresh air on a night and really feel there should be a opening window.
