The Old Chapel is a beautifully restored and spacious cottage in a tranquil village setting, ideal for exploring the Yorkshire coast and countryside. Guests consistently praise its peaceful atmosphere, characterful conversion, and well-equipped kitchen. The property is especially popular with walkers, dog owners, and those seeking a relaxing retreat. The host is noted for being helpful and responsive. While some mention minor issues with the shower and a few dated features, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.
Most guests found the property very clean and well-presented, with only a couple of comments noting minor areas for improvement such as the key safe and some paintwork. Overall, cleanliness is a strong point.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, proximity to coastal walks, and easy access to Filey, Bridlington, Scarborough, and Bempton Cliffs. The rural setting is a highlight for many guests.
Guests generally found the cottage cosy, warm, and comfortable, with particular mention of the beds. A few noted the sofas could be improved and the shower pressure was sometimes low, but these did not detract significantly from overall comfort.
The kitchen is well-equipped and the property offers good amenities, including a spa bath and piano. Some guests noted missing or dated items, and a few maintenance issues in the bathroom and kitchen, but most found the facilities more than adequate.
Several guests appreciated welcome gifts and the host's personal attention, though it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed. The host is described as attentive and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at The old Chapel. It is set in a quiet village, the location is ideal for exploring the coastline.Very dog friendly. The chapel is quirky, warm and clean and had everything we needed for our stay. No shops within walking distance but plenty of shops in nearby Filey. We walked from the village to the coast, it is quite steep at times. However, the beautiful quiet beaches are worth it. Would definitely recommend

We have had a lovely stay at The Old Chapel. Lovely and warm . All utensils in the drawers that we needed. Did suggest a ninja to the host as this would save on his electric bills. The area is so quiet and hardly any light pollution at night so plenty of stars to see in the sky. Lovely walk past the church to Filey cliffs too. Would definitely stay again.
