This apartment in Whitby is highly praised for its stunning harbour views, central location, and cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and easy access to local attractions. The owner is noted for being friendly and responsive. While most guests found the property clean and inviting, a few mentioned occasional lapses in cleaning and some maintenance issues. Parking and lack of WiFi are common drawbacks, but overall, guests consistently enjoy their stays and look forward to returning.
Most guests found the apartment clean and well-presented, but several reviews mention issues such as unwashed dishes, dusty surfaces, and occasional leftover items from previous guests. These concerns were not universal but occurred often enough to impact the overall impression.
The location is universally praised, with guests loving the proximity to Whitby town centre, harbour views, and easy access to shops and attractions. Some mention road noise and parking challenges, but these do not detract significantly from the property's appeal.
Guests generally found the apartment cosy and comfortable, with a comfy bed and inviting living area. However, a few noted issues with mattress quality, small sofa size, and occasional noise from the street, which affected their comfort.
The apartment is well-equipped with kitchen essentials, hairdryer, iron, and games. However, the lack of WiFi, some maintenance issues (e.g., loose handles, worn mattress, dated microwave), and occasional cleaning lapses were noted. Parking is convenient but can be expensive and limited.
There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.
A lovely, first floor apartment, in a Grade II listed building overlooking the historic harbour in Whitby. With superb, panoramic views, the property is perfect for couples wanting to enjoy this popular seaside town, with all its amenities right on the doorstep. Many character features have been preserved, including the high, original sash windows, window shutters and panelled walls and doors. There is a comfortable, open plan living area with a lovely, decorative cast iron Victorian fireplace, a small dining table and a kitchen, whilst the bedroom is light and spacious and also has a decorative period fireplace. From all windows, guests can sit, relax and admire the stunning views, watching the brightly coloured boats come in and out of the harbour and the famous swing bridge opening.
With the shops and amenities all within a stone’s throw, you are ideally placed for exploring the quaint, narrow streets, the cobbled market place and Whitby’s many restaurants and pubs. Enjoy a cocktail in one of the harbourside bars, or partake in afternoon tea in one of the many tea rooms. Whitby has much to offer, with its 199 steps leading up to the Abbey, museums, such as the Captain Cook memorial museum, and the pretty gardens in Pannett Park. Why not book a night time ghost walk, or a whale watching trip? With the beautiful scenery of the North York Moors to discover nearby and numerous coastal and inland villages to visit, this apartment provides an ideal base, at any time of the year.
